There are many different types of caravan and camper air conditioner to choose from, including: rooftop (mounted externally on the roof), built-in under bunk (usually mounted underneath a bed or inside a cupboard) and split system or built-in (mounted under seating areas, in cupboards or any other cavity).
Providing you have abided by manufacturer guidelines and specifications, caravan air conditioning units can be just as successful as those installed in your home. Be aware that a lack of roof insulation and/or wall panelling can mean a larger unit is required.
Generally speaking, there are 2 main groups – 2 to 2.5 kw (suitable for vans up to 5 metres in length) and 3kw plus (suitable for vans up to 7 metres in length).
