The Long Paddock

The Long Paddock Touring Route follows the stock route along The Cobb highway from Echuca-Moama on the Victorian border, through to Wilcannia and leading to the iconic outback towns of Bourke, Broken Hill & White Cliffs.

The Long Paddock is an easy drive and accessible by caravan, car or 4WD. The beauty of the Long Paddock is that visitors can come for a day, a week or a lifetime. The touring route passes through the well-known towns of Echuca/Moama, Deniliquin and Hay, which have all the goods and services visitors can expect from large country towns. They also offer significant visitor attractions such as the internationally renowned Australian Shearers Hall of Fame – Shear Outback in Hay.

The Long Paddock also passes through some of the most character filled villages in Australia. These little townships of between 30 and 70 people provide visitors with a glimpse of life in country communities. Make sure you stop and have a cuppa or a beer in Mathoura, Pretty Pine, Wanganella, Booroorban, Booligal, Ivanhoe and Wilcannia, where you will be welcomed with a smile and can get a real feel for life in the bush.
